My photos and drawings start from a fascination for the process with a concept at its foundation. It fascinates me how far I can go with photos or an image as pure material. My work process binds history, intuitive-emotional impulses and a rational-analytical approach together.

The transformations the image undergoes from photography tot a new form of materiality plays a main role in my work. Time, Light, and Space are recurring theme’s in my work.

Report by the commission JBZ award, Den Bosch.
“Marcela Radoš uses the camera as a paint brush and achieves special effects with it. Photos are the basis of her work. By photo’ing them multiple times, the original image becomes figurative and abstract. Meanwhile it gets closer to the essence of the original photo. The photo series based on a photo in a park impressed. The green elements in the first photo relate throughout the photo series and develop itself into an all-embracing sensation of green colour. This work ultimately impressed
the jury most.”
